Michael Cerroni 5K To Raise Scholarship Funds

The fourth annual Michael Cerroni 5K is coming up this month.

It's named for a former Marine captain who was killed in a 2006 snowmobile accident.

The event raises money for a scholarship fund at Carthage Central.

The run is June 29 and starts from Maple Street Park in Black River.

The event is professionally timed. No pets, bikes, skateboards or roller blades are allowed.

Preregistration is recommended.

Packet pickup is from 7  to 8:30 a.m.

The run gets underway at 9 a.m. and an awards ceremony is at 10 a.m.
