Morning Checkup: Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Dr. Alejondro Rodriguez is Samaritan Medical Center's chief of urology and urology oncology.
He says prostate cancer is the number two cause of death in men after lung cancer. Aside from skin cancer, it's the most common form of cancer in men.
An estimated 230,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2013. An estimated 30,000 will die from the disease this year.
There are no symptoms in the early sages, he says, so screening is important.
