Morning Interview: Henderson Harbor Triathlon/Duathlon

The 20th Annual Henderson Harbor Triathlon/Duathlon to benefit CREDO and Big Brothers Big Sisters is coming up Saturday, July 9.

Paul Passino, from the Children's Home of Jefferson County, and Jim Scordo, from the CREDO Community Center, joined 7 News This Morning Friday to talk about the details of the event.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. at the Henderson Harbor Boat Launch. The race begins at 9 a.m.

The triathlon is 600 meter swim in the harbor, 15.5 mile bike ride, then four mile run.

The duathlon course involves a two mile run, followed by a 15.5 mile bike ride, and then another two mile run.

"It breaks it up a little bit. It's a good progression into doing a triathlon. It's a good starter to do. And you still get a team together," Passino said.

Athletes can complete the course individually or as part of a team.

Register online in advance, or in person on race day.
