Museum To Hold Presentation On The Battle of French Creek

The Thousand Islands Museum is inviting the public to learn about a battle fought 200 years ago near Clayton.

The Battle of French Creek was fought during the War of 1812.

The museum will have a presentation on Saturday, November 2, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Norm Wagner, Clayton's historian, will speak about the actual Battle of French Creek.

Dennis McCarthy will discuss what was happening with the British and American Lake Fleets just before and after the Battle of French Creek

John Miller from Forsyth Rifles, a re-enactment group will discuss the story of the Forsyth Rifles.

Six re-enactors will attend in costume. 

Weather permitting, cannon and muskets will be fired.

John Carruthers from Prescott, Ontario will be displaying weaponry and artifacts from the battles fought in the Prescott area.
