Noon Interview: No-Fault Divorce

In October 2010, New York became the last state in the nation to enact some version of no-fault divorce.

Watertown attorney Krystal Rupert appeared on 7 News at Noon on Monday to discuss the law.

Under the previous law, New York judges could grant divorce only on grounds of cruelty, adultery, abandonment or imprisonment.

The new measure requires one spouse to swear under oath that a relationship has broken down for at least six months.
