The Watertown Urban Mission is having its 2013 Run for Recovery
It starts from the Alex Duffy Fairgrounds in Watertown. Registration is at 6:30 a.m. The walk and run begin at 9 a.m.
There's a free lunch for all runners and walkers.
Martha Ivey speaks for the Urban Mission's Bridge Program. It's a court-mandated program for people convicted of drunk driving.
This year, the run is dedicated to her son, Tommy Ivey, who was killed in a drunk driving accident in 2003.
Sal Ciulo runs the Bridge Program. He says the event is one way to raise awareness of the impact of drinking and driving.
If you preregister, it's $20 per person or $110 for a team of six. For military, it's $18 per person and $99 for a six-person team.
Registration the day of the event is $25 per person.
