SPCA: Busy Weekend Ahead

Tools

Meet Alf. He's a 4 week old long-haired Guinea pig that was surrendered to the Jefferson County SPCA along with three adults and his four sisters.

The SPCA's Gina Wirth says Guinea pigs are fairly easy to care for. All you need are a cage, bedding, water bottle and food.

The SPCA has a busy weekend coming up.

Its annual bowl-a-thon is October 19 at Pla-Mor Lanes in Watertown. Registration starts at noon and bowling starts at 1 p.m.

And from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 20, the SPCA will take some of its adoptable animals to Old McDonald's Farm in Sackets Harbor.

Old McDonald's Farm will also donate part of their pumpkin sales that day to the SPCA.

For more information, call the shelter at 315-782-3260. You can visit www.jeffersoncountyspca.org or the SPCA's Facebook page.
