South Jeff Backpack Program Plans FundraiserThe South Jefferson backpack program is holding a mac and cheese contest. It's a fundraiser for the program, which sends 69 backpacks home every weekend filled with food for needy kids. A total of about 150 kids are helped each week. The competition itself will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on February 9. The deadline for entries is January 11. You need to have a New York state approved kitchen to participate.
