It's now summer and there are things you need to know about taking care of your pets during warmer months.
Dr. Stephanie Young from the The Animal Doctors veterinary clinic says a good investment is a life vest for your pet if you plan to spend a lot of time near the water.
They're good for inexperienced swimmers and older dogs, especially in areas where the current is unpredictable.
It's always good to make sure your pet has access to shade and plenty of water and to watch out for pesky fleas and ticks.
If you are out walking and take water for yourself, make sure you take some for your pet, too.
