The Gift Of Supporting Healthy Choices

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and the occasion can be difficult for people on a diet.

Registered dietitian Cathy Moore appeared on 7 News at Noon Friday to remind viewers that one of the greatest gifts of caring could be to support the people they love by helping them be healthy instead of unconsciously sabotaging efforts.

Too often, instead of helping we see how hard they are working or watch them give up favorite foods and encourage the people we care for to skip a day at the gym or we bring home unhealthy foods as a treat.

The Adopting Healthy Habits Initiative encourages everyone to look at the context of their environments and find ways they can encourage healthy habits - employers can support healthy worksites, agencies and organizations support healthy behaviors in the people they serve.
