Breast Cancer Walk In Gouverneur

The Gouverneur Business Women are holding their annual breast cancer walk later this month.

It's the 11th year for the event, which is scheduled for May 19 starting from the Gouverneur Village Park.

Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and opening ceremonies get underway at 10:15.

Around 500 people walked in the rain last year and organizers expect 600 to 700 participants this year.

The walk is noncompetitive, is only about a mile long and ends at Riverside Park, where there will be activities for kids and ceremonies honoring breast cancer survivors.
