Morning Checkup: New Device Helps Patients Cope With MRI

Story Updated: Jan 22, 2014

There's a new device to help people while they're having an MRI.

It's essentially a pair of goggles in which people can watch movies while they're in the MRI tunnel. It's great for children and anyone who might be claustrophobic.

Patients bring in their own movies to watch during the procedure, which can last anywhere from half an hour to an hour and a half.

The device is the first of its kind in northern and central New York.
