Morning Checkup: Samaritan Holds Cancer-Related Events

Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown has several upcoming events for cancer patients.

Bonnie Trudeau is an oncology nurse navigator at Samaritan who helps cancer patients through the complexities of the health care system.
Samaritan is offering early lung cancer screening for 30-pack-a-year smokers between the ages of 55 and 74 and 20 pack-a-year smokers over age 50.
The screening costs $200 and is not covered by insurance, but insurance typically kicks in if cancer is found.

Samaritan is also having a smoking cessation class. It's from 6 to 8 p.m. on November 13 and December 16.
