Morning Checkup: Tips For Not Gaining Weight Over Holidays

Teresa Intorcia, a diabetes educator at Samaritan Medical Center, has some tips to avoid gaining weight during the holidays.

Here are some of her tips:
 
- Increase your workout
- Aim for five to seven servings of fruits and vegetables a day
- Serve yourself half a plate of vegetables and fill the other half with equal portions of meat and starch
- Limit the number of drinks
- Focus on socializing
- Try not to have seconds
- Try to limit desserts
