NRCIL Holds Walks To Raise Mental Health Awareness

The Northern Regional Center for Independent Learning (NRCIL) is holding a pair of walks in honor of May as Mental Health Month.

NRCIL hopes to help erase the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

There will be a "Walk for Wellness" in both Jefferson and Lewis counties this year.

In Lowville, the walk is May 16. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. and the walk is at 5 p.m.

Dinner will be afterward at the Lowville Fire Hall.

In Jefferson County, the walk is May 23 with a 10 a.m. kick-off at the Dulles State Office Building in Watertown.

The walk to Thompson Park begins at 10:45 a.m.

Lunch will be at the park pavilion at noon.
