Race To Raise Funds To Fight Neurological Disorder
Story Updated: Aug 1, 2012
There's a race this weekend to raise money for neurofibromatosis research.
The race is called "10K Race The Lake for Research".
Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder of the nervous system which causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere in the body at any time.
Reggie Bibbs has the disorder and created the Just Ask! Foundation to create awareness of NF and help others with the disorder.
Bibbs says he encourages people to "go on with life."
"It's not as bad as what we think it is," he said.
The race starts at 9 a.m. on August 4. It begins and ends at Kitto's Marina on Pillar Point.
Participants can run, walk, cycle or skate.
