River Hospital Extends Hours For Convenient Care
Story Updated: Jun 5, 2014
River Hospital's Convenient Care, located on the hospital's second floor, is now providing urgent health care services to patients six days a week and has extended its hours on the weekdays.
"We've been seeing a lot of tick bites over the last couple of days, sore throats, strep throat, ear infections," said physician assistant Amanda Rydberg.
Effective this week, Convenient Care has extended its hours due to patient demand.
It's now open until 6 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. have been added.
Walk-ins are not accepted.
Patients are asked to call and schedule a same day appointment.
"You'll speak with one of our RNs, they do all the triaging and the phone calls to determine who's appropriate to be seen in the Convenient Care and who's more appropriate for the emergency room," said Rydberg.
To make an appointment, call 482-1125.
Patients can be seen in the emergency department when Convenient Care is not open, but with that comes a higher copay and, most often, a longer wait.
