River Hospital Performs Digital Mammographies

Story Updated: Aug 9, 2013

We reported on it earlier this week, but folks from River Hospital in Alexandria Bay visited 7 News This Morning to talk about the hospital's new digital mammography equipment.

Andrea Bates, director of marketing and community relations, says "it's a big deal for us as a small hospital to get this kind of technology."
Mammographer Monique Skelly said the higher resolution and better-quality images help detect cancer earlier than previous equipment could.

The hospital's radiology department is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and on Saturdays on request.
