Watertown Doctor Credits Mom For His Success

Story Updated: May 10, 2013

Although he lives thousands of miles from his native Pakistan, a Watertown eye doctor never forgets how it all began and credits his mom for much of his success.

Center for Sight ophthalmologist Dr. Noaman Sanni has a plaque prominently displayed on his building which reads, "This building is dedicated to Munawwar Sanni who has been the most inspiring person in my life and to all mothers who dedicate their lives to their children."

"She was a very good source of inspiration and very supportive and very involved," said Dr. Sanni.

His mother remains close with her three sons, whether in Pakistan or in Watertown.

She now gives her grandchildren that same time and attention.

For Dr. Sanni, his mother's guidance has left him with a lasting respect for women.

"For every dollar that we spend in society, I think if you spend on development of women, it's a dollar well spent because it does really have a huge impact on future generations," he said.

As for his Mother's Day gift to his mom this year -  we suggest he give her a link to this story.

Happy Mother's Day, Mrs. Sanni, and to all mother's who selflessly give so much.

as an ex-empoyee of his...I find it very ironic. As a mother of two children, try getting any time off from there to take care of your children or take them to apts.......never remember a lot of support there!
