Did you tip a few during the holidays or did you tip a few too many?

If drinking is out of control for you or someone you love, the time to get help is now.

Alcohol abuse is rampant in this country and the statistics are shocking.

One in ten people has a drinking problem.

"And that's probably the tip of the iceberg," said Anita Seefried-Brown, community prevention director at the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Council of Jefferson County.

She says if alcohol interferes with your life, you have a problem.

"When the individual experiences family issues, health issues, perhaps job-related issues, financial issues," said Seefriend-Brown.

The good news is there's help for anyone affected by alcohol abuse and it's just a phone call away.

For information on programs available locally to help individuals and families deal with alcohol abuse, call the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Council at 788-4660 and you will have an appointment within 24 hours.
