Story Updated: Sep 6, 2012
A local fitness club wants to help you get up and get moving while helping a great cause at the same time.
Page Fitness Athletic Club in Watertown is offering a program so you can go from being a couch potato to a 5K runner in five weeks.
"It's a great opportunity, if you haven't been doing anything, to have a professional trainer help you with a program to just get moving," said Chris Page of Page Fitness Athletic Club.
You will benefit from it and so will AIDS Community Resources.
For $75, you will work one-on-one with a Page Fitness trainer to strengthen your core and legs and get yourself running.
"$25 of that goes towards our First Frost AIDS Walk/Run, which of course supports our youth HIV and STD prevention programs," said Jacki Coe of AIDS Community Resources.
You can register for the "Couch to 5K in 5 Weeks" program at Page Fitness on Outer Washington Street in Watertown.
For more information, call 786-8032.
The First Frost AIDS Walk/Run is Sunday, October 14.
This year's motto is "every step makes a difference."
