Interview: Energy Programs Can Help Save Money

A pair of programs administered through Cornell Cooperative Extension can help north country residents save energy - and money - in their homes.

The Empower New York program provides free comprehensive energy evaluations for homeowners or renters. Some people would qualify for grants for new, energy-efficient appliances or other energy-saving improvements.

Green Jobs, Green New York allows people to make improvements to their homes and apply the cost to their electric bills.
