A low profile monastery in Watertown, is celebrating fifty years.

The Sisters of the Precious Blood tend to stay quiet at their Pratt Street home, but are known for their good work in the community over the past five decades. Bishop Terry LaValley and several priests turned out for the celebratory mass at St. Patrick's this afternoon.

"This is an occasion to thank them, thank them for the many prayers they prayed for us," said Father Don Robinson, Saint Patrick's pastor.

"It's been 50 years since our arrival here in Watertown and the people of Watertown have welcomed us royally all those years," said Sister Marilyn McGillian, Sister Superior, Sisters of the Precious Blood.

A new nun was also ordained at the service. Her name is Sister Mary, and she's from Vietnam.
