Carthage Elks and Lions Clubs Hold Free Dinner

At the Elks Lodge in Carthage, Thanksgiving was all about coming together. The Elks and Lions Clubs held their fifth annual Thanksgiving feast.

"That's what's really special is that we're bringing over 200 people together on Thanksgiving," said Adam Fuller, Carthage Elks Exalted Ruler.

Some were there because they simply don't like to cook, and others are away from their families.

"This is great, because it's a place for people to go who don't have family around here. Especially this weekend when the weather wasn't cooperating," said Chris Bears, a man enjoying a free meal.

The Elks declared the dinner as successful, even those who brought their families.

"The children came to me and said dad are we going to do it again this year. And absolutely, I think they all enjoy giving back," said Craig Brennan, an Elk for 41 years.

Because that's what Thanksgiving is all about: giving back, giving thanks, and feeling good.
