It is here. The time of year when shoppers are out, bags in hand, ready to find the best deals and the latest trends. Just ask people at Best Buy in Watertown's Salmon Run Mall why they are out and shopping.
"Video games, the Nabis (tablets) I've seen on TV. I'm kind of scoping and seeing what kind of price they are and hopefully she'll play with them," said Carrie Harp, Christmas shopping for the girls.
One of the top sellers? The Play Station 4. Over fifty have already been sold here since its release on Friday. And nationwide, over one million sold in just the first 24-hours.
"That was a very successful launch. And coming up next midnight on Friday early we have the Xbox1 that's coming out," said Manfred Laube, Best Buy employee.
Marking what some gamers are calling the war of the video game consoles.
A few stores down at JC Penney, it's a shopping frenzy of a different kind. As some are looking for clothes to fit an entire family.
"I have four kids, six grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. One is 13 years old. I don't have a clue what to get her. She's tall!," said Donna Hierholzer, serious shopper.
We all know shopping can sometimes be a tall order. Especially around the holidays. It is the season of giving after all, whether you're looking for clothes, or the latest video game.
