More than 1300 students received degrees between the Sunday commencements at Saint Lawrence University in Canton and SUNY Potsdam.
519 bachelor's degrees and 29 master's degrees were awarded at Saint Lawrence University Sunday morning.
Surrounded by family and friends, the graduation ceremony was held outside the Canton campus this year.
A special tradition gives graduates the option to receive their degree from family members associated with the University, which several of Sunday's graduates took part in.
At the State University of New York at Potsdam, 753 students received bachelor's degrees.
Tackie Huff was one of the graduates at Potsdam.
"I'm super excited. I don't know what to do next!," said Huff. "It's just that it's overwhelming. It's really overwhelming. But it's a good overwhelming."
Family, friends, and the graduates enjoyed this year's commencement ceremony outside in the academic quad on campus.
