Saint Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies say a Gouverneur man was in one lane when he should have been in another type of lane. Brian Simmons should not have been driving, he should have been bowling.

Deputies say Simmons, 34 collected money from a Hermon business as a sponsorship for a charity bowling tournament scheduled for April 27, 2013. Simmons never ended up bowling and the unnamed business's name was never used to sponsor a team at the event.

During the course of the investigation of the alleged bowling scam, deputies realized Simmons was allegedly driving with a suspended license.

Simmons was charged with Petit Larceny, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree, and Unregistered Motor Vehicle.
