Drug Take Back Planned in Massena

Tools

If you have old, outdated, or unused prescription drugs sitting around and don't know how to get rid of them, the Massena Police Department has the answer.

Often times, unused prescription narcotics can find their way onto the street where they are illegally sold. They also can end up in the hands of an addict who is feeding their habit.

The Massena Police Department, as part of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration's Take Back initiative, will be accepting the prescription drugs at the police station next Saturday, April 28.

Police will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept the unused drugs.

Police Chief Timmy Currier says individuals will be able to turn in any unused or expired medication for safe disposal, keeping it out of the hands of abusers.
