While the holiday shopping continued indoors Saturday, many hit the slopes outdoors.
It was opening weekend at Dry Hill in Watertown. All the snow the North Country has received, coupled with cold temperatures have made it possible to open the slopes early this year. In fact, it's the first time skiers and snowboarders have been able to ride over Thanksgiving weekend since 2008.
The slopes are open Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
