Man Who Jumped into Black River Charged

MGN Online

The man police say tried jumping into the Black River to avoid police earlier this month is facing several criminal charges.

Logan Moore, 20, of Natural Bridge, is charged with second-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and second-degree Obstruction of Government Administration.

Police say they found Moore with cocaine on June eighth, when he tried to flee police by attempting to jump into the river off Mill Street. He missed the water and landed on the rocks below. Moore is also accused of punching an apartment door on Mill Street that night.

Earlier this week, Moore was arrested along with Jeremiah Markwick, 24, Natural Bridge, by state police in Syracuse.

The pair are accused of stealing a car in Carthage. Moore is now being held without bail.
