Skewed Brewing opened on Tuesday in the Salmon Run Mall, Watertown, and people are already pouring in, to try the 24 beers offered on tap. Owners say it's all about variety.
"People started realizing that they could get actual flavor in their beer and so not only are they feeling happy when they drink beer but they're getting flavor with it as well," said co-owner Ryan Chaif.
The owners plan to create a beer production facility in the next few years in order to sell beer in retail stores.
"The only way to do that was through a brew pub, constantly brewing and tweaking our recipes to fit the palats of northern New Yorkers," Chaiff said, "so that when we do start the off-site brewery, we have the recipes ready and ready to go in the bottle, people will recognize the name and know the beer they're getting in the bottle."
The owners say they plan to start brewing their own beer in January. But until then people still have plenty of options if they want a cold drink.
