Run to Remember Marine

Hundreds participated in the third annual memorial run for Michael Cerroni in Black River.

The run pays tribute to Cerroni, a marine captain who was killed in a snowmobiling accident in 2006. The 5-K run/walk also raises money to go toward scholarships for students at Carthage Central School, Cerroni's alma mater. For Cerroni's mom, Patty Strife, it's a special day.

"It's such a beautiful and tight knit community," said Strife. "It turns out each year, we're getting more and more to support it."

An award ceremony followed the run. And included raffle prizes and an award for most spirit.
