Thousands Show for Watertown Parade and Tree Lighting

The holiday spirit was alive in downtown Watertown Friday.

People braved the cold in Public Square for the annual tree lighting ceremony. This was the first year the tree lighting ceremony was combined with the annual Christmas parade. Organizers say more than four thousand people showed up for the Christmas fun.

"People like to come down and see the tree light up and enjoy some caroling," said David Winters, Downtown Business Association incoming president.

"I thought it was amazing just the way the lights were," said Cody Davis, parade-goer.

The tree lighting ceremony is organized by the City of Watertown and the Downtown Business Association.
