Work on the long-awaited and much anticipated Clayton hotel has finally begun. The former Frink site is now fenced off, and crews expect to be pouring concrete in the next few weeks.

The town and local development corporation have been working on bringing some sort of attraction to the site since Frink Snowplows shut its doors in 2000. After finally signing a deal with Krog Corporation and Hart Hotels in December, the vision of a luxury hotel is coming to fruition.

Justin Taylor, Clayton town supervisor, was one of the central figures in bringing the hotel to Clayton.

"Those who said this wasn't going to happen are probably going by saying, 'yup, I guess they pulled this off. It's going to happen," said Taylor.

Krog corporation and Hart Hotels expect to be have the Clayton hotel finished and open by the end of May next year.
