Fort Drum's 10th Aviation Brigade has a new commander.

His name is Colonel Michael McCurry.

At a change of command ceremony Thursday, McCurry took over for Colonel David Francis.

McCurry arrives from his previous position in Washington D.C., where he was the Deputy Director of Army Aviation.

McCurry says he's ready to get to work.

"This summer, we'll face a significant turnover in soldiers with summer moves so we bring in essence of stability to the organization during that high op tempo turnover period with the soldiers and move forward to train for the next mission," said McCurry.

This isn't McCurry's first time at Fort Drum.

He was a troop commander at Fort Drum in the mid 90's.
