Fort Drum's Single Soldiers Treated To Thanksgiving DinnerThe tables are set and the potatoes are peeled -- all in preparation for a big Thanksgiving dinner on Fort Drum. The organization called Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers, or BOSS, is hosting a turkey day event for soldiers who can't or don't want to go home for the holiday. "As a soldier, we're one big family," Sgt. Bradley Johnson said. "At the BOSS program, we like to pull them out of the barracks, have them come here, have a good time, mingle, get to know other soldiers that they don't know -- it's big on morale," he said. The day's events kick off with flag football at noon. Dinner will be served at 2 p.m. Most Popular |
