Group 'Showers' Fort Drum Wives With Baby Gifts

The group is called Operation Shower and it honors military wives who are expecting a special arrival.

The non-profit organization throws baby showers at military bases around the country.

But volunteers say this shower at Fort Drum is especially meaningful.

"We knew that it was an important place to be and an important group of people that we needed to meet and say thank you to," said LeAnn Morrissey, chief shower officer.

With tasty finger-foods and some cute cupcakes, it's a time eat, chat and enjoy a little summer fun.

Amanda Lineberger and her daughter, Callyn, say they don't want the party to end.

"This is amazing," said Amanda.

The gifts, like pillows, diaper bags and clothing, are all a surprise.

The grand surprise is a new stroller for each of the women.

Ashley Renaud can't wait to use the stroller she got.

"This is my first baby so he's going to be really spoiled. He's already spoiled," she said.

The ladies were also surprised with $100 gift cards to Babies-R-Us, in case the gifts didn't cover it all.
