'Lt. Dan' Supports Troops With Free Fort Drum ConcertFort Drum played host to a very special guest Sunday night. Actor Gary Sinise was in town playing a free concert for the troops. Sinise played Lieutenant Dan from the movie "Forrest Gump." He's been playing shows for the troops with his band, The Lieutenant Dan Band for years. "This is dangerous work," Sinese said, and the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division have "gone through a lot here at this base, so I very much wanted to come out and support them." "When I see the smiles on the faces of the military folks who we're playing for and the family members and everything, it makes you feel good."
