Military Court Acquits Man Accused Of Killing Stepson
A Fort Drum soldier accused of his killing his 4 year old stepson in December 2012 has been acquitted of all charges by a military court.
Staff Sgt. Raheem Hollis of the 10 Mountain Division's 1st Brigade Combat Team was facing charges of murder, manslaughter and making a false official statement in connection with the death of Michael Sanders in their on-post home.
A military panel of officers and enlisted soldiers returned the not-guilty verdict on all counts last Friday.
Charges of assault and obstruction of justice had been dropped. The boy's death was reportedly caused by a liver laceration.
Army officials say the 32 year old Hollis will now be returned to his regular duties.
