-Every Tuesday and Thursday through August
Every Tuesday and Thursday (June 28 through August) you can enjoy guided horseback riding on the trails of Remington Park. Free to DoD ID Card holders. This adventure begins at Lloyds Landing and is on a first come, first served basis. Call Randy Dobson at 772-4765 for more information.

Interior Decorating Contest Deadline
-Contest is exclusively for residents of Mountain Community Homes
Calling all decorators! Want to win a shopping spree to Pier One? Show us how you have turned your house into a place you can really call "home"! Please bring or send photographs of your interior decorating skills to your community center (or email contests@fdmch.com) by August 31st. Residents may enter up to five photographs each. Photos must be from your current on-post home. Be sure to include the following on your entry: Name, Address, Phone Number, and Email Address. Three winners will be selected in early September to receive the following:1st Place - $500 Pier One gift card, 2nd Place - $100 Pier One gift card, 3rd Place - $50 Pier One gift card. Ride The River

-Tickets on sale through August 31
End the summer right at the Family and MWR- AUSA Fort Drum Ride The River event in Clayton New York. Tickets are available at the McEwen Library and Magrath Sports complex to Military ID card holders and their guests through August 31. Adult tickets are $5 each, tickets for children 6 to 12 are $3 and children under 5 are free. Your ticket includes admission to the world famous Antique Boat Museum where you will be given the chance to take a boat
ride on the Saint Lawrence River, enjoy the guided tour of the museum , and explore the 106 foot houseboat, “LaDuchesse”. A leisurely barbeque picnic lunch is included for you and your friends or family at the museum river shed. Hitch a ride on the trolley to explore the village of Clayton where you will find many quaint shops, galleries, nationally renowned museums, and fine restaurants. This is a great opportunity for the Military community to enjoy and end the

Preschool Children's Story Time

Ceramics Qualification

Attend one mold pouring class to get certified to use the studio. Learn how to get started. $5 instructional cost includes materials needed to pour and fire your first project. No paints are included. Call 772-5606 for more information.

Range Branch Hosting Hunters to Sight Weapons
-September 3-4, 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25
-9 a.m.-3 p.m., Range 21
Fort Drum’s Range Branch will host a range for hunters to sight their weapons every weekend in September. Rifles, muzzleloaders and handguns are allowed. A temporary skeet range is available for shotguns, and an archery station also will be available. Participants must bring their own equipment and targets (including clay pigeons). Anyone bringing a handgun must bring any applicable New York state permits. All participants must have a valid Fort Drum Recreation Permit or Range Pass. For more information, contact Range Branch at 772-1924 during normal duty hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Army Digital Photography Contest

This contest has two divisions. Military Division for Active Duty Military and Other Eligible Participants for Family Members, DoD Civilians, Retirees, etc. per AR 215-1. Photo categories are People, Military Life, Nature & Landscapes, Animals, Still Life, Design Elements, Digital Darkroom, and Monochrome. Family Night at the Commons

Spend the evening out with the kids at the Winner’s Circle. Each week there is a special fun activity for the children to participate in. The Pizza and Pasta Buffet is sure to meet anyone's appetite. $6 for adults and $3 for children 8 and under. Each week a different themed entertainment is provided for family fun. CYSS Youth Sports and Fitness Indoor Soccer Registration

Vehicle Veiwing for Auction of Abandoned Privately-Owened Vehicles

Vehicles sold in as-is condition. Vehicles can be viewed at Euphrates River Valley Road, Fort Drum. Place your bid at the Family and MWR window on the second floor of Clark Hall between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Or at the vehicle lot from 11 a.m.-7p.m. September 6-September 9, and at the vehicle lot from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. September 10. Forms are available at both locations. Bids are also accepted by mail, addressed to Family and MWR Auction, PO Box 899, Fort Drum, NY 13602. Mailed bids must be postmarked by September 10 to be considered. Bids will be opened on September 15, with notification to the highest bidder by September 16. Tied bids will be determined by first received. Vehicles must be paid for and removed by September 21. Call 772-7902 for more information.

A club for job seekers, or people who want to learn to market their skills. 'Educate, empower, employ' is the Job Club motto. Each month discussion will focus on job leads, employer information, and learning skills to make yourself more marketable. Lunch is provided.

Super Sign Up

The Super Sign Up event offers the Fort Drum community a "one stop" opportunity to learn about and register for numerous activities, clubs, and organizations found both on and off post. Display booths feature signups for volunteer service agencies, adult and youth clubs, other post agencies and activities as well as local businesses. ATV Safety Class
