McEwen Library Dress A Turkey Contest
-November 1-30
The McEwen Library Annual Dress-A-Turkey Contest returns. Dress up or color the cartoon turkey available at McEwen Library then return your creation to participate in the competition. Entries will be displayed in the library for popular vote. This event if for all ages and you can obtain an entry form and complete list of rules at the McEwen Library during regular hours. Entries will be accepted beginning on November 1 and continue through November 30. Voting will run from December 1 through 10. For more information, call Allen Goudie at 772-9099.
 
Teen Sports Club

Army Family Team Building Level II Training
-Two day training: 11/15 & 11/16
-9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Level II courses target leaders and are geared toward professional growth and development and communication skills, stress management, conflict resolution, and more. This two day training is held at Army Community Service. Registration encouraged. Free child care is available through CYSS hourly care with class pre-registration. Anger Management Class

Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems. Learn ways to control your anger before it controls you with this free class.
 
Family Night at the Commons: Thanksgiving Costume Contest

-Every Tuesday
Spend the evening out with the kids at the Winner’s Circle. Each week there is a special fun activity for the children to participate in. The Pizza and Pasta Buffet is sure to meet anyone's appetite. $6 for adults and $3 for children 8 and under. Each week a different themed entertainment is provided for family fun. Snowmobile Safety Class
-9 a.m.-4 p.m., “Dirty Harry's” Sportsman’s Lodge
-Cost: $5/person
Rider safety courses are required to use snowmobiles. Must be 18 years of age or older and have proper I.D. Please wear or bring boots, gloves, and appropriate outer wear. These classes are held at the new “Dirty Harry’s “ Sportsman’s Lodge. Maximum class size is 55. Cost per person is $5. Registration is required. First Term Financial Readiness Class

Framing Class
-Two sessions: 11/16 & 11/17, 5 p.m.-7 p.m., Arts and Crafts
-Instruction fee: $20, plus materials
Attend two afternoon classes to learn how to frame pictures or prints. Bring in an item to frame (no bigger than 16x20), learn how to single cut opening in mat, cut frame stock and glass, the put it all together. Some materials are available in the Arts & Crafts resale store. Must register and pre-pay prior to class. Contact: 772-5606.
 
BOSS Gaming Tournament: Modern Warfare 3

The BOSS facility has gaming systems, controller, and big-screen HD TV’s. All they need is you. Compete against the best gamers in Fort Drum playing the newest games. AUSA & Greater Watertown Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours

Business After Hours presents “A Day Out With Santa”, co-sponsored by the AUSA and the Greater Watertown & the North Country Chamber of Commerce. Federal Employment Workshop

Learn the ins and outs of the Federal Employment System. Applying for federal employment can often be confusing and a little frustrating if you are not familiar with the procedures. Garrison Teen Council Lock-In

This Lock-in runs until 8 am on November 19, is free, and open to both Middle School and High School members of the Youth Center. The purpose is to review the outcomes from the Youth Leadership Forum which was held in Lake Placid in July, finalize agenda for a Teen Town Hall Meeting, and complete a video on “Being a Teen on Fort Drum”. Free Bicycle Giveaway for Military Children
-America's Best Value Inn, 1190 Arsenal Street, Watertown
-Beginning at 9 a.m.
Military families are invited to come out to America's Best Value Inn (The Inn at 81) in Watertown to pick up a free bicycle. Around 80 bicycles will be given away to children of military families, on a first-come, first-served basis. To receive one of the free bikes, the child must be present with their parent. Bicycles that are left over will be donated to the Watertown Urban Mission to distribute to any child in need. The bicycles have been restored by a wounded veteran from Oneida. The chilly weather is here so now is the time to bundle up the family. Come to this clothing give-away at Army Community Service and save some money while outfitting the whole family for winter. 2011 Individual Bowling Tournament

This free Bowling Tournament is open to all active duty military assigned to Fort Drum, Family members, and DoD Civilians who are 19 years of age or older. Shift times are noon and 3 pm. This event will be conducted at the Pine Plains Bowling Center. Register at the Family and MWR Sports Office by 4:30 November 18 or at the Pine Plains Bowling Center on the day of the event up to one half hour before each shift time. Digging Up Drum

Come to the McEwen Library to hear Fort Drum archeologist, Dr. Laurie Rush, talk about those who were here before you were. Artifacts and stories will tell us interesting information from the time of the first people to inhabit this area to the recent settlers. This family program is open to all. Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Trip

This is a 2 night 3 day trip to New York City where you will have the opportunity to see the world famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade at Herald Square. Bus transportation will depart from Parks and Recreation at 8:30 am on November 23 and return late on November 25. Price per person based on double occupancy is $150.00 and covers transportation and accommodations. Registration for this trip is required by November 22. BOSS Takes You to the Movies

Boss will supply transportation to and from the REEL TIME Theater on Fort Drum. Soldiers mush call at least one hour prior to the movie time to schedule a pick up. Soldiers being transported in a BOSS vehicle will be given a discounted admission to the movie and a REEL TIME Express Voucher from the EXCHANGE.
