Mountainfest
-Begins at 1 p.m., Division Hill
-OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
The Fort Drum and North Country Community is invited to Division Hill on June 28, to enjoy the day at Mountainfest. The fun begins at 1 p.m. at this yearly event featuring military equipment displays, amusements, games, and food and beverage concessions. Once again, The Boss Custom Car, Motorcycle, and Audio Show returns to Division Hill with vehicle competition registrations beginning at 1 p.m. The one and only Washington Redskins Cheerleaders will be making an appearance at 3:30 p.m. and at 5 p.m. Salute To the Nation will be presented on the parade field. Salute To The Nation is a highly anticipated event and community favorite at Mountainfest with a patriotic rank and file display honoring each state in the union. Followed by Air Assault demonstration. Country music star; Jake Owen will perform at a free concert beginning at 7 pm with opening act TJ Murphy courtesy of AmeriCU Credit Union and Lockheed Martin. Top off this amazing day by staying for a spectacular fireworks display immediately following the concert. For more information, call Laura Oakes at 772-5370.

Youth Center MS Go-Kart Trip to Keewaydin Park Registration Deadline
-Trip: July 12, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
-Cost: $15
Teens in grades 6-8 can enjoy a day at Keewaydin State Park and Go-Kart fun if they register for the trip by the June 30 deadline. Call Child, Youth, and School Services at 772-6719 for more information.
Horseback Riding at Remington Park
-Call Remington Park at 772-4765 for days and times and other information
-Riding Fee: $30/person
Rides are available for up to three at a time. Availability is on a first come, first served basis. Rides start at Lloyd's Landing Lodge. Cash only accepted for payment. Riders must be at least 8 years old. The maximum weight allowed is 220 lbs. No expectant mothers please.

Black River Challenge
-9 a.m. Race Start, Glenfield
The Lewis County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 3rd Annual Black River Challenge on July 1. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the race will start at 9 a.m. The 3rd Annual Black River Canoe and Kayak Race will begin at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation boat launch in Glenfield, and will end at the DEC boat launch in Castorland. The distance is 23 miles, and there are no carries. There will be a pit stop at the halfway mark, the DEC boat launch at Beaches Bridge, and there will be a post-race meal not far from the finish, as well as a recognition ceremony.

Watertown's Annual Concert in the Park
-Begins at 5:45 p.m., Thompson Park
Come to Watertown's Thompson Park for this year's annual Concert in the Park. The Operation Yellow Ribbon event is FREE and open to the public. The community celebration begins with a pre-show by Fred & the Eds at 5:45 p.m., followed by an Operation Yellow Ribbon Rally at 7 p.m., and the feature performance by Symphony Syracuse at 8 p.m. The night wraps up with the traditional fireworks display. A rain date for this event has been scheduled for July 5.
“Patriotic Spectacular” Benefit Concert
-7 p.m., Clayton Opera House
The Clayton Community Band, directed by Gloria Hvizdos Musser, will present “Patriotic Spectacular” at 7 p.m. July 3 in the Clayton Opera House. The performance will benefit the Clayton Opera House. Tickets are $5; any student accompanied by an adult will be admitted free. Tickets are available at the Opera House Box Office (686-2200) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, or online at www.claytonoperahouse.com. Remaining tickets will be sold at the door on the evening of the concert. The Clayton Community Band, resident ensemble of the Clayton Opera House, is a not-for-profit organization. Welding Safety Class

BOSS Takes You to the Movies
-Friday and Saturday nights
Boss will supply transportation to and from the REEL TIME Theater on Fort Drum. Soldiers mush call at least one hour prior to the movie time to schedule a pick up. Soldiers being transported in a BOSS vehicle will be given a discounted admission to the movie and a REEL TIME Express Voucher from the EXCHANGE. Rides are available for Friday and Saturday night movies only. Call 772-7807.
