Researcher Looks To Nature To Help Veterans

Could the sights and sounds of nature help war veterans recover from the stress of battle?

That's what a Cornell University researcher hopes to find out.

Dr. Keith Tidball is meeting with groups of veterans as part of a three-year project.

He hopes his findings may lead to new ways to connect veterans to nature.

"We hear about these national treasures that are national parks...we also hear in the discourse that our veterans are national treasures. It would be nice if we could find ways to create an overlap between them," said Dr. Tidball.

Dr. Tidball met with veterans at the Carthage American Legion on Thursday.
