Six soldiers were injured by a lightning strike on Fort Drum Thursday night.

A spokeswoman for the post said the injuries to the six were non-life-threatening.

The six are all members of the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team. They were conducting routine training on range 44 when lightning hit. The call for help went out at 8:40 p.m.

Ambulances transported the six to local hospitals. Range 44 is near the Jefferson-St. Lawrence County line, so it wasn't immediately clear which hospitals were used.
