Update: Fort Drum Soldier Shot During Training Released From Hospital
The Army has an update on a Fort Drum soldier who was shot during a training exercise this week on post.
The Criminal Investigation Division says the soldier has been released from the hospital and has returned to his unit.
The soldier is a member of the 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team.
CID says there's no suspicion of foul play.
Officials said the soldier suffered a gunshot wound during a live-fire training exercise on Fort Drum late Monday night.
The incident happened on Fort Drum Range 52.
The unidentified soldier was evacuated from the training and later transported via Life-Net helicopter to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
