Melanoma Awareness Walk

Sunday, May 17 is the Melanoma Awareness Walk, in memory of some local people who fell victim to the skin disease.

Rain or shine, the walk will start at Thompson Park Pavillion.

Melanoma is caused by too much exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun and tanning booths.

However, lessening your exposure to the sun and wearing high SPF sunscreen, and re-applying often, can help avoid future problems.
