For Your Health: Relay TimeJefferson County's 'Relay For Life' will take place Friday at the Jefferson County fairgrounds. 'Relay' raises money for the American Cancer Society, and the annual event in Watertown is the leading fund-raiser in the New York-New Jersey region.. In 2009, the Jefferson County relay raised $324,000. This is the 15th year for the local relay, with the last eight co-chaired by WWNY sports anchor Mel Busler and his wife, Rose. "When you're there and you see those survivors walk," said Rose Busler, "That's why you're there." There are 81 teams in this year's Jefferson County relay. The opening parade is 6 pm Friday, te cancer survivors' lap is at 7:30 pm and the 'luminary'ceremony begins at 10 pm. The Ogdensburg Relay For Life also begins Friday. Relys in Massena and Lewis County last weekend raised a combined $201,000.
