2 Charged With Drug Possession In Gouverneur

Two people from Natural Bridge face charges after state police found drugs in the car they were in.

Troopers say they found hypodermic needles, four packets of heroin and three prescription narcotics in a car occupied by 29 year old Bridget Prashaw and 18 year old Gerald Woodard.

The two were arrested Tuesday on Williams Street in Gouverneur.

Police say the prescription drugs included alprazolam, carisoprodol and suboxone.

Prashaw was charged with one count of possession of a hypodermic instrument and three counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Woodard was charged with two counts of possession of a hypodermic instrument and four counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both will appear in Gouverneur town court at a later date.

Prashaw was turned over to state police to answer active warrants in Jefferson County.
