2 SUNY Canton Students Face Drug Charges
Two SUNY Canton students face drug charges after village police said they seized 30 packets of heroin, cocaine and marijuana.
Police arrested 23 year old Rashid Stirling of Brooklyn and 19 year old Donnell Tucker of New York City.
The two were arrested following a month-long investigation into drug deals on campus and in the village.
In addition to the drugs, police said they seized drug paraphernalia and counterfeit U.S. currency.
Police searched a dormitory room, a Nissan Maxima and an apartment at 49 West Main Street on Monday.
Stirling was charged with a felony count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Tucker was charged with a felony count first-degree possession of a forged instrument, a misdemeanor count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Bail was set at $3,000 cash or $6,000 bond for Stirling.
Tucker's bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
The men are due to appear Friday in Pierrepont Town Court for a preliminary hearing.
