2 to 3 Inches Of Lake Effect Snow Per Hour
If you're planning to drive between Watertown and Syracuse, be careful.
The National Weather Service is calling for heavy lake effect snow late Tuesday afternoon.
Interstate 81 from Parish to Sandy Creek is expected to see deteriorating weather conditions and roadways.
The NWS says lake effect snow across the eastern Lake Ontario region is consolidating into a single band across Oswego County.
Snowfall rates within this developing band will fall at a rate of 2 to 3 inches per hour.
It is likely that travel will become extremely difficult with snow covered roadways, poor visibility and blowing snow.
The NWS says if you must travel, allow plenty of extra distance between your car and other vehicles and take along an emergency travel kit in case your vehicle has mechanical problems or gets stuck.
